In the Preschool Ministry at Westport Road Baptist Church our mission is to lead preschoolers to understand and experience God’s love! Through Bible lessons, songs and crafts we strive to actively engage kids in learning that God loves them and they can love God too!

SUNDAYS WEDNESDAYS F.A.Q.s BABY DEDICATION FOR PARENTS

Sunday Mornings

9:30 a.m.

Preschoolers enjoy Bible stories, songs, crafts and more! They form relationships with the teachers each week and learn that church is a fun and safe place where they learn about God’s love. The Three Year Olds through the Kindergarteners experience a large group/small group setting where they do hands on activities and discussion in small groups with their teachers and then join together for music and Bible story in a large group setting.

11:00 a.m.

During this service preschooler threes, fours and Kindergarteners experience the love of God. Kids can expect to learn a Bible story, sing worship songs, make a craft and have a snack!

Children 2 & Under

Children 2 years and younger experience the love of God each week during both the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services. Children are taught Bible stories, sing songs and are cared for by loving teachers.

Wednesday Nights

On Wednesday nights at 6:30pm we have fun and learning planned for your preschooler! While you are attending a Bible Study we will be working on Bible basics with your Preschooler.

We end each Wednesday night session with a fun activity. Programming changes seasonally but past activities have included “jumping” into the gym and learning a new sport, arts and crafts or learning how to make music by ringing bells.

Preschool Ministry F.A.Q.s

Do you have Criminal Background checks on your teachers?

Yes, the church has implemented a policy requiring all adults working with minors to have criminal background checks. We take the safety of your children very seriously!

How/Where do I drop off my child?

Preschoolers are dropped off in the classroom. When you drop off you will be asked to fill out a nametag for your child. It will have your child’s name, your name and a phone number. We ask that you put your cell phone on vibrate. If we need to get in contact with you, we will dial your cell phone.

My child has separation issues. I'm afraid to leave them.

Our teachers have a lot of experience with children. More often than not, children with separation issues will cry for a few minutes when dropped off in a new setting. Once they realize that they are safe and feel loved they usually calm down. If your child is still struggling after several minutes, we can call your cell phone or come find you if you would like. If you think your child might have trouble, please let us know and we will let you tell us what you would like for us to do about contacting you.

What other activities do offer for my preschooler?

At various times throughout the year we have special events. Samples of past events include, Princess and Warrior Party, Movie Nights, Birthday Party for Jesus, Zoo Trip, VBS, Easter Egg Hunt, etc. We will publicize these and would love for you to come! We also have a MOPS ministry for Mothers of Preschoolers.

Baby Dedication

“I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD.”
– 1 Samuel 1:27–28

Join us in celebrating the life of your baby and pledge, along with the church body,
to raise your child to grow to know and love the Lord!

Baby Dedications are typically done once each year.

We will need a picture of your child and your child’s full name to display during the service
and the service time (9:30 or 11:00 a.m.) in which you would like to join us!

To inquire about the next Baby Dedication
please contact our preschool minister, Mary Adams.
